FAQs

What is included in the price?

  • The price includes the full show of 10 musicians, PA and lighting rig. (Acoustic Package is for 4 musicians).

  • All bookings in West Yorkshire are at advertised price, but anything further afield is chargeable.

  • Travel costs (petrol/flights, travel time, clean air/congestion charges, hotels etc.) will be calculated in the quote so be sure to include the location of your event when filling in the booking form. 

Can I book a smaller band?

  • The band is only available as an= 10-piece as all the arrangements are specially written for the line-up.

  • The acoustic package has a smaller 4-piece for special occasions.

Do you provide background music or a DJ?

  • We provide a Spotify playlist (no requests) as standard in between sets, there is a post-show laptop (requests) add on available or we can bring a professional DJ to mix the preshow and after party! 

What equipment do you provide? Do I need to hire anything else for my event?

  • We provide all our own instruments and personal amplification (PA) suitable for crowds up to approximately 150 people

  • We also bring our own lighting rig for use by the band during the show

Can you play outside?

  • Yes but we need to be under cover and have access to power. (see technical info)

Are you insured/health & safety?

  • The band has a PLI policy for £10 million

  • All the band's equipment is PAT tested

  • The band will conduct a health & safety review before the show  

Do you do discounts for shorter sets?

  • We can play for a shorter time period but unfortunately our prices are fixed for afternoon and evening bookings.

Do you take requests?

  • Yes we do! If you want us to play a first dance, your favourite song or it's a surprise let us know in the contact form and we'll let you know if it's possible!

Is everything live?

  • Yes! The band does not use any backing tracks. Everything you hear is live on-stage.

Public Dates

  • The band's show is available for public performances at bars/clubs, festivals, holiday parks, cruise ships/theatres etc. Please contact ciaran@thesilktones.co.uk to discuss.

  • Our public show is a theatre-timed revue of current chart toppers (so is constantly updating) and some classic 2000s and early 2010s throwbacks.

Technical Info

  • We require 90 minutes before performance time in order to load-in, set up our instruments and soundcheck our PA.

  • If booking multiple sets, we require a minimum of a 15 minute break in between sets. 

  • We require 30 minutes of pack down time after the performance has ended in which to clear the stage and load-out of the venue.

  • We require on-site parking with easy access to the performance area. Where this is not possible, a loading bay at the venue with a nearby multi-storey car park (costs chargeable).

  • We require a performance space of 8m(w)x4m(d).

  • We require access to at least 6x230V plug sockets within 10m of the stage (i.e. in reach of an extension lead).

  • If performing outside, we need to be under shelter (preferably covered on 3-sides) with access to power safely accessible from a generator or mains.
